Acceptance vs. Complacency

Acceptance vs. Complacency

Acceptance and complacency are not the same thing.

Acceptance is a resolution to not attempt to control things inherently beyond my control. It is NOT a device to justify resignation about things that really are within my realm of control; that’s complacency.

  1. I have been thinking about this relationship for a while: acceptance versus complacency. I have learned that acceptance is the only way to have peace inside oneself, and have peace with others. Still, sometimes, we want to control others and make them better as we see sit. We all have strong perceptions of truth, and sometimes we want to impose these truths on others. But a person is always themselves, and not us. We have to respect that.

Thank you for giving a good breakdown of what the terms really mean.
